Sanchez pleased to announce 3 new soccer commits

Head coach Jorge Sanchez is pleased to announce three quality players have committed to the Concordia Stingers women’s soccer program and will be at training camp this August.

Sabrina Manolakos, a centre back from Montreal, joins the Stingers after three years with the Dawson College soccer program where she was captain in her final year. At the club level she represents St. Leonard in the AAA league.

"Sabrina is a defender with good soccer IQ and solid decision making,” said Sanchez. “She provides us with another good option on the back line."

Defender Emilie Coté, a product of the Ottawa Fury soccer program, will move to Montreal after a successful career in the Ottawa-Stittsville, Ont. community where she attended Canterbury High School.

She participated the Ontario Soccer Association’s regional exceleration program which is used to identify players for Canada's youth teams.

"Emilie is a versatile defender that can play across the back line but also has great offensive instincts much in the same manner as current players Courtney Streeter and Lindsey Brooks," said Sanchez.

Midfielder Danielle Boucher from Kanata, Ont. will also wear maroon and gold starting this fall. The All Saints Catholic High School student has been captain of her regional team with West Ottawa Soccer for the last four seasons and this year will make the jump to play in the Women's Premier League.

"Danielle is a very athletic player whose size and ability to cover ground will add versatility to our team,” Sanchez said. “Eventually, we also see her getting some playing time at centre back."
