Men's soccer program adds offensive firepower

Head coach Greg Sutton is pleased to announce Eli Barutciski, a very accomplished attacking midfielder, has committed to the Concordia Stingers men’s soccer program.

“From an offensive perspective, Eli is the type of player we’ve been searching for,” Sutton said. “He possesses the dynamic offensive ability we need. He’s fast, quick and has a strong work ethic. He’s going to be an all-star in our league.

“We’re excited to add him to our roster.”

Barutciski, who checks in at five foot seven and 150 pounds, has been developed by the Power FC Academy in Toronto where he has been a star athlete since 2005.

In 2013, he was invited to tryout with Fulham FC Academy in England, a rare honor for a Canadian athlete.

The Toronto native led Power FC’s U15s in scoring in 2012 and also helped them clinch both the Soccer Academy Alliance of Canada (SAAC) league title as well as the SAAC league cup.

The 17 year old will graduate from Lycée Français Toronto this spring. He plans to study Sociology at Concordia.
