Element announces men's hockey coaching staff

Head coach Marc-André Element is pleased to announce his coaching staff for the 2015-16 Concordia Stingers men's hockey season.

Joining Element at practice and behind the bench will be Jesse Goodsell, Marc-André Rizk and Alex Petizian.

"All the coaches coming in are very passionate about this program and are willing to do anything to help move the program forward," Element said. "We're going to work very hard to bring the team to the next level."

Goodsell was an accomplished defenceman with the Stingers for five seasons ending in 2011. He has been involved coaching minor hockey the last few years, including serving as an assistant coach with the Lachine Maroons of the Quebec junior AAA league last season.

Rizk also graduated from the Stingers program after having played centre for five seasons – 2005 to 2010. He has gone on to establish a career in public speaking and personal coaching.

Finally Petizian will work with the goaltenders, the same role he has with Concordia's women's program. He played four years of ECAC hockey with Saint Lawrence University. He played briefly in the AHL and then in Italy and Denmark. He also works with the young goaltenders in the Lakeshore Hockey Association in the west end of Montreal.
