Rajotte, Khatchikian – Athletes of the Week

Frédérique Rajotte of the women’s rugby team and Arto Khatchikian of the football team have been named Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Sept. 20.

She scored one try and was a key contributor in Concordia’s 29-14 victory over the McGill Martlets last Wednesday. Rajotte was named the game MVP. Her efforts helped the Stingers with their third straight game to start the RSEQ season.

A 21-year-old native of Markham, Ont., Rajotte is a Communications student at Concordia.

Khatchikian, a third-year linebacker, was the defensive MVP in the 29th annual Shrine Bowl game that saw Concordia defeat the McGill Redmen 33-21 on Saturday. He led the Stingers in tackling with seven solos and two assists for a total of eight. He also collected an interception that he returned 11 yards. He was named RSEQ Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts.

The 24-year-old student from Dollard des Ormeaux, Que. is working towards a degree in History at Concordia.
