Schofield, Miller – Athletes of the Week

Keriann Schofield of the women’s hockey team and Trenton Miller of the football team have been named Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Sept. 27.

Schofield, a third-year right wing, was exceptional in a three-day tournament at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, N.S. Her coaches praised her performance and work ethic. The Stingers lost their first two games but won the final one on Saturday, defeating the Waterloo Warriors 2-1. She scored the first goal of the game.

A 20-year-old native of Wolfville, N.S., Schofield is an Engineering student at Concordia.

Miller orchestrated an impressive offensive attack despite a 41-29 loss to the No. 4-ranked Montréal Carabins. His unit rolled up 32 first downs, 405 yards of offence and scored four touchdowns. He completed 34 of 48 passes for 334 yards and four touchdowns. He threw just one interception. He also carried the ball three times for 21 yards and took over punting duties when Keegan Treloar left the game in the first half. He had four punts for 146 yards and a 36.5 average.

The 21-year-old student from Buffalo, N.Y. is working on his Masters in Business Administration in the John Molson School of Business.
