Vanier LB Lloyd Bureau transfers home from Ontario

Concordia defensive co-ordinator Patrick Donovan is pleased to announce linebacker Lloyd Bureau, a former star at Vanier College, has left Ontario and will pursue his football career with the Stingers.

After wrapping up his Cégep career at Vanier in 2013, Bureau joined the Western Mustangs of the OUA conference. He sat out in 2015 and will be with the Stingers in January.

Bureau is already attending classes in Concordia’s John Molson School of Business. He is exceptionally smart and already runs a successful business.

“He’s a great student and student of the game,” said Donovan. “I’m excited by his understanding of the passing game. It’s hard to come by a linebacker that truly understands it.

“He’s a guy that I feel can compete right away.”

In his final season at Vanier he had 52.5 tackles, including seven tackles for a loss and two sacks. He was also honored for his academic accomplishments.

Bureau played his high school football at Séminaire Saint-François.

The Quebec City native checks in at six feet, 205 pounds.
