Marilyse Roy-Viau of the women’s basketball team and Olivier Hinse of the men’s hockey team have been named Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 22.
Roy-Viau, a fourth-year forward, was impressive in her team’s tough 59-54 loss to the No. 2-ranked McGill Martlets last Friday. She was a constant threat, picking up 16 points and seven rebounds.
A 23-year-old native of Mirabel, Que., Roy-Viau is a Leisure Sciences student at Concordia.
Hinse, a fourth-year forward and team captain, was the top performer in Concordia’s two-game swing through northern Ontario last weekend. He had two power-play goals and an assist in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Nipissing Lakers and a 5-3 victory over the Laurentian Voyageurs.
The 24-year-old student from Sherbrooke, Que. is in the Child Studies program.
