Stingers announce signing of Vanier DB Jizreel Botat

Defensive co-ordinator Patrick Donovan is pleased to announce halfback Jizreel Botat from Vanier College will join the Concordia Stingers family for the 2016 football season.

“He is a tremendous addition to our family,” Donovan said. “He’s a step-in player. He’s physical, athletic and he really understands the game. He’s also a leader and a great team guy.”

Botat, who checks in at five foot nine, 180 pounds, comes out of the St. Laurent Minor Football Association where he played five years before joining the Vanier Cheetahs for three seasons.

The hard working, determined defensive back is a perfect fit for the family-focused approach of head coach Mickey Donovan and assistant head coach Patrick Donovan.

“There are many reasons I chose Concordia,” Botat said. “I noticed coach Mickey and coach Pat are building a family, more so than other schools I talked to. Concordia is a program on the rise. The Stingers have come along way in a short time with the Donovans. I want to be a part of it and it makes me happy to be there.”
