DT Sam Narkaj selected for East-West Bowl

All-Canadian defensive tackle Sam Narkaj will be the Concordia Stingers’ sole representative at the 14th annual East-West Bowl that will take place at Molson Stadium in Montreal on May 14.

The East-West Bowl is a prospects game designed to showcase CIS players who will be eligible for the 2017 CFL draft.

At six foot one and 295 pounds, Narkaj wreaked havoc on opposing quarterbacks all year. He had six solo tackles and three assists behind the line of scrimmage, including three sacks. He had 23.5 tackles on the season and an interception he returned seven yards.

The Toronto native will play on the East side which is comprised of student-athletes representing schools from the AUS and RSEQ conferences, as well as Carleton, Ottawa and Queen’s. The West contingent is made up of players from Canada West and the remaining OUA universities.

The East has won the last two contests and five of the last six, including a 29-21 decision last May at Molson Stadium. However, the West still leads the all-time series 7-6.
