Frédérique Rajotte of the women’s rugby team and Scott Oke of the men’s hockey team have been named the Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Oct. 16.
Rajotte, a centre in her fourth year of eligibility, was the outstanding player in Concordia’s 68-5 win over the McGill Martlets in the annual Kelly-Anne Drummond Cup on Sunday. Rajotte scored four tries in the victory.
A 22-year-old native of Markham, Ont., Rajotte is enrolled in the Communications program at Concordia.
Oke, a third-year winger, picked up four points in two games last week. With a goal and an assist, he was part of a comeback charge that saw the Stingers fight back from a 6-1 deficit before finally succumbing 6-5 to the McGill Redmen last Friday. The following day he picked up another goal and assist in a 3-2 victory over the Carleton Ravens.
The 23-year-old athlete from St. Lambert, Que. is an Economics student at Concordia.
