Dubois, Lafontaine – Athletes of the Week

Claudia Dubois of the women’s hockey team and Raphaël Lafontaine of the men’s hockey team have been named the Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Dec. 4.

Dubois, a second-year forward, was exceptional in Concordia’s two games last week. She scored the lone Stinger goal in a 3-1 loss to the McGill Martlets last Friday. She also scored two goals in Concordia’s 8-1 victory over the Carleton Ravens on Sunday. Head coach Julie Chu says Dubois was one of the Stingers’ most consistent players in the first half of the season.

A 21-year-old native of Chicoutimi, Que., Dubois is working on a certificate in Arts and Science.

Lafontaine, a second-year forward, scored two goals and added an assist in Concordia’s 5-4 overtime victory over the UOIT Ridgebacks last Friday. The win gives the Stingers an 11-5 win-loss record to wrap up the first half of the season.

The 22-year-old athlete from Gatineau, Que. is a Management major.
