Hockey Stingers double Denmark 4-2 in Worlds warmup

The Concordia Stingers men’s hockey team wrapped up the first half of its season with a thrilling 4-2 victory over the Denmark junior national team at the Ed Meagher Arena on Saturday.

Denmark is in Montreal to compete in the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Championship.

Alexander True, the captain of Team Denmark, gave the visitors a 1-0 lead in the first period.

Concordia stormed back in the second period outscoring Denmark four to one. The Stinger goals came from Antoine Masson, Chris Domsodi and Anthony De Luca who scored two. Denmark’s lone goal in the second frame came from Rasmus Thykjær Andersson.

It was a scoreless third period.

The Stingers will break for the holidays and return to action the first week of January. After travelling to Kingston, Ont. to meet the RMC Paladins on Jan. 4, Concordia comes home to host the Toronto Varsity Blues on Jan. 6 and the Ryerson Rams on Jan. 7. Both games are scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
