Dubois, De Luca – Athletes of the Week

Claudia Dubois of the women’s hockey team and Anthony De Luca of the men’s hockey team have been named the Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Jan. 29.

Dubois, a second-year forward, played a key role in Concordia’s two victories last week. In the third period, she scored the game-tying and the game-winning goals to lead the Stingers to a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over the Ottawa Gee-Gees last Saturday. She also picked up a goal and an assist in Concordia’s 5-0 win over the Carleton Ravens on Sunday. Dubois has 11 goals and five assists for 16 points in 16 games this season. She is the leading goal scorer in the RSEQ conference.

A 21-year-old native of Chicoutimi, Que., Dubois is working on a certificate in Arts and Science.

De Luca, a first-year forward, picked up five goals and two assists in a pair of games last week. He scored one goal in a 5-2 loss to the UQTR Patriotes last Wednesday. He was unstoppable in a 9-1 victory over the Laurentian Voyageurs last Saturday. He notched four goals and two assists in the win. Deluca leads the OUA conference in goals and points with 21 goals and 15 assists for 36 points in 25 games.

The 21-year-old athlete from Rosemere, Que. is in Independent Studies at Concordia.
