Chama Sedki of the women’s soccer team and Moritz Wittmann of the men’s rugby team have been named the Subway-Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Sept. 10.
Sedki, a second-year mid-fielder, stood out in Concordia’s 1-1 tie with the Bishop’s Gaiters in Lennoxville, Que. last Thursday night. She scored unassisted at the 25-minute mark. She had six shots at goal in the contest.
A 22-year-old native of Longueuil, Que., Sedki is a Computer Engineering student at Concordia.
Wittmann, a second-year fly half, scored two tries to help lead the Stingers a 38-10 victory over the McGill Redmen on the road Sunday afternoon. He scored his first try six minutes into the game and then scored his second try four minutes later helping Concordia take an early 14-0 lead. He was named Man of the Match.
The 20-year-old student from Zurich is studying English Literature at Concordia.
