Dubois, Beauregard – Subway Athletes of the Week

Claudia Dubois of the women’s hockey team and Anthony Beauregard of the men’s hockey team have been named the Subway-Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Jan. 14.

Dubois, a third-year forward with the Stingers, was instrumental in helping the Stingers pick up two victories last week. She had three assists in a 5-1 victory over the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Sunday. She was also formidable in Concordia’s 2-0 road win against the Carleton Ravens last Friday. She is the leading scorer on the Stingers with 12 points in 12 games.

A 23-year-old native of Saguenay, Que., Dubois is studying Leisure Sciences at Concordia.

Beauregard, a forward in his second year with the Stingers, collected four points in two games last week. In a 4-2 victory over the Queen’s Gaels on Saturday, he scored a goal and added two assists. The previous night he had a goal in a tough 4-2 loss to the UQTR Patriotes. He is the leading scorer in U SPORTS with 15 goals and 32 in 20 games.

The 22-year-old student from St. Damase, Que., is working on a Certificate in Arts and Science.
