Humes, Beaulieu – Subway Athletes of the Week

Sarah Humes of the women’s soccer team and Ken Beaulieu of the men’s basketball team have been named the Subway-Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Jan. 21.

Humes, a second-year forward with the Stingers, was exceptional in Concordia’s first game of the RSEQ indoor season at home on Sunday. She scored three goals in a 4-2 victory over the UQTR Patriotes. She was named the game MVP. She is currently the leading scorer in the RSEQ.

A 19-year-old native of Montreal, Humes is working on a Certificate of Arts and Science at Concordia.

Beaulieu, a forward in his fourth year with the Stingers, was instrumental in helping Concordia sweep a two-game series with the Bishop’s Gaiters last week. He scored 20 points and hauled in seven rebounds to lead his team to a 90-85 in the first match at home last Thursday. Two days later in Lennoxville, Que., he was good for 15 points and 13 rebounds in a 79-74 victory.

The 24-year-old student from Longueuil, Que., is studying in the Leisure Sciences program.
