Audrey Belzile of the women’s hockey team and Jonathan Koud of the men’s basketball team have been named the Subway-Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Jan. 28.
Belzile, a second-year forward with the Stingers, was exceptional in Concordia’s tough 5-3 loss to the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Sunday. She picked up a goal and two assists in the game. She has been a force for the Stingers since the holiday break.
A 20-year-old native of St. Hyacinthe, Que., Belzile is studying Business at Concordia.
Koud, a guard in his third year of eligibility, was instrumental in helping Concordia split a two-game series with the Laval Rouge et Or last week. He scored 15 points and collected four rebounds and six assists in a 67-62 loss last Thursday. Two days later in Quebec City he was good for eight points, seven rebounds and nine assists in an 84-61 victory.
The 21-year-old student from Montreal is studying in the Certificate of Arts and Sciences program.
