Claudia Dubois of the women’s hockey team and Philippe Hudon of the men’s hockey team have been named the Subway-Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Feb. 18.
Dubois, a third-year forward with the Stingers, had exceptional performances in Concordia’s last two regular season games. She scored a goal and set up the overtime winner in a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Sunday. Two days earlier, she picked up an assist in a tight battle with the Montréal Carabins who eventually won the game 3-2 in overtime.
A 23-year-old native of Saguenay, Que., Dubois is studying Leisure Sciences at Concordia.
Hudon, a fourth-year forward and team captain, helped the Stingers win two straight games last week, eliminating the UOIT Ridgebacks in the opening round of the OUA East playoffs. He had a goal and two assists in a 4-1 victory last Wednesday. Two days later he scored the winner in overtime to give Concordia a 3-2 win.
The 24-year-old athlete from Hudson, Que., is a Finance major in the John Molson School of Business.
