Head coach Tenicha Gittens is pleased to announce point guard Areej Burgonio from Crestwood Preparatory College in North York, Ont. has committed to the Concordia Stingers women’s basketball team.
“Areej is a very dynamic and crafty guard who will complement the class we have coming in,” said Gittens. “She will bring added excitement to our team. Her ability to break down her defender and find her teammates will be a welcomed addition to our roster.
“Her passion and intensity on both ends of the floor and are infectious and we’re very excited to have Areej coming in with the 2018 class.”
In addition to her school team, Burgonio also plays in the Sisters Keeper elite basketball program in the Greater Toronto Area.
She will join the Stingers for the 2018-19 season.
