Biggest men's hockey game in decades at Loyola tonight

The Concordia Stingers men’s hockey team will host its most important game in more than three decades when it battles the McGill Redmen in Game 2 of the OUA East championship series tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Ed Meagher Arena.

The Stingers have reached the third round of the playoffs for the first time since 1983-84 when they won the Quebec University Athletic Association title and advanced to the national championship. But on that journey the last home games were played in round two of the playoffs.

Adding to the excitement, Concordia won the first game of the best-of-three series by a 3-1 score over the Redmen at McGill on Wednesday. If the Stingers win tonight, they will play for a gold medal next week in a one-game, winner-take-all OUA championship. The winner of the OUA West final will host the game. If the Redmen win tonight, Game 3 will take place at McGill on Sunday at 7 p.m.
