Briar Bache of the women’s hockey team and Joey Fulginiti of the men’s rugby team have been named the PJ’s Pub Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 17.
Bache, a goaltender who is in her second year of eligibility, helped the Stingers defeat the Ottawa Gee-Gees 4-2 last Sunday. She gave up just two goals on 24 shots. It was Bache’s first start of the RSEQ season.
A 21-year-old native of Barrie, Ont., Bache is currently enrolled in the Exercise Science program at Concordia.
Fulginiti, a third-year flyhalf, scored 18 of Concordia’s points in a 23-13 RSEQ semifinal victory over the Sherbrooke Vert & Or last Sunday. He connected on six of seven penalty goals in the game. He played a strong defensive game and was also an exceptional leader on the field, making a significant impact on the team’s execution on the field.
The 22-year-old student from Montreal studies in the Finance program at Concordia.
