Coach Greg Sutton announces 3 soccer LOIs

Greg Sutton, head coach of the Concordia men’s soccer team, is pleased to announce three highly-coveted recruits have committed to the Stingers.

The beefing up of the Concordia talent pool starts in the net with Wes Aucoin, a six-foot-four goaltender out of John Abbott College. The Orleans, Ont. native played two seasons with the Islanders. Previously, he represented École Secondaire Louis-Riel.

Oliver Georges, a defender from Boucherville, Que., is a strong addition to the Stingers’ backfield. He comes out of the powerful Champlain College, St. Lambert, program. The Cavaliers were undefeated last fall with a 7-0-3 record.

Justin Gibson, another young defender, comes from the Ottawa minor soccer system. He is also an exceptional talent that Sutton is excited to add to the Concordia lineup.

“These players are the foundation we will build on,” said Sutton who is in his second season at the helm of the Stingers. “We’re starting to define and develop a winning mentality. This is important and these players have the moxy to provide that for us.”

All have signed CIS Letters of Intent (LOI) and will join the team in August.
