Stinger Emily Even shines at Worlds in Latvia

 

Emily Even of the Concordia Stingers played for Netherlands at the International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship in Ventspils, Latvia last week, helping her national team finish fourth in the Division I, Group B Pool.

Netherlands was in a round-robin competition with China, Hungary, Korea, Kazakhstan and Latvia. Netherlands finished in the middle of the pack with two wins, an overtime win and two losses. Latvia won the tournament and moves up to Division I, Group A.

Even, who has been with the Dutch national program since 2006, was named Player of the Game in her team’s 4-2 victory over Korea on April 9. In the five games, she took 22 shots on net and scored three goals.

The first-year forward with the Stingers collected one goal and two assists in 20 games in RSEQ conference action this past year.
