Ottawa soccer star to bolster Stingers' men's lineup

Head coach Greg Sutton is pleased to announce right fullback Odaine Demar will join the Concordia Stingers men’s soccer team when training camp opens later this month.

Demar comes with an impressive soccer résumé, including being part of the Jamaican U20 national team. Most recently he’s been associated with the West Ottawa Soccer Club as a coach and as a member of the Men’s Premier team.

“He brings a lot of pace and can get forward in the attack,” said Sutton. “He can also play right mid-field which is great when we need to add offence.”

Demar was also a star player at All-Saints Catholic School in Ottawa. He scored 47 goals in his four-year high school career.

As a young man growing up in Jamaica he participated in cricket, rugby and track and field. Demar became serious about soccer when he moved to England, commencing to play at a competitive level in 2005.
