Men's hockey adds more talent to recruiting class

Head coach Kevin Figsby is pleased to announce two talented forwards from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) ranks have signed letters of intent committing to the Concordia Stingers.

Right wing Marc-Olivier Brouillard from St. Hilare, Que. and centre Olivier Jodoin of Otterburn Park, Que. will be with the men’s hockey program at the start of training camp this September.

Brouillard, 21, checks in at five foot 10, 180 pounds. He spent five seasons in the QMJHL, the majority of it with the Drummondville Voltigeurs. He wrapped up his junior career with the Gatineau Olympiques.

“Marc-Olivier is an offensive specialist. He has an extremely quick release of the puck,” said Figsby. “He is a strong power play guy. He’s a power play quarterback.”

Jodoin, 21, spent three seasons in the major junior league, finishing with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. He is six foot three and 195 pounds.

“Olivier is a solid two-way player,” said Figsby. “He has an offensive side, but he is a defensive shutdown centreman. Adding to his versatility, he can play on the wing as well.”

The Stingers report to camp on Sept. 1.
