Ruscio, Beauchemin - PJ's Pub Athletes of the Week

Alyssa Ruscio of the women's soccer team and Domenic Beauchemin of the men’s hockey team have been named the PJ’s Pub Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Sept. 28.

Ruscio, a second-year defender, was instrumental in helping the Stingers tie the top-ranked Montréal Carabins 0-0 last Friday. Two days later she scored the game-tying goal in a 2-2 tie with the McGill Martlets. She was also selected the game MVP.

A 21-year-old native of Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Que., Ruscio studies Accounting at Concordia.

Beauchemin, a rookie left wing, was a key player in Concordia’s success at the Western Mustangs tournament last week. He played a strong two-way game in the Stingers’ 5-3 win over the Waterloo Warriors last Thursday. He had two goals and an assist in Concordia’s 4-3 victory over Western in the championship game last Friday.

The 21-year-old student from Varennes, Que. is in general studies at Concordia.
