Hum, McQueen - PJ's Pub Athletes of the Week

Natasha Hum of the women’s rugby team and Anthony McQueen of the men’s rugby team have been named PJ’s Pub Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Oct. 19.

Hum, a scrum half, was instrumental in helping the Stingers pick up a 30-19 win over the Laval Rouge et Or last Saturday in the RSEQ semifinal. She was named MVP of the game. The strong performance of the Stingers allowed them to beat the second-place team in the league and move on to the RSEQ championship for the eighth straight year.

A 19-year-old native of Kirkland, Que., Hum is in her first year of studies in Athletic Therapy at Concordia.

McQueen, a second-year outside centre, was a key player in Concordia’s 24-7 victory over the Sherbrooke Vert & Or Sunday. His remarkable penetrating runs provided a solid attacking platform and his strong defensive performance helped shutdown Sherbrooke. He also scored the second try of the game. The Stingers remain in first place with a 4-1-1 win-loss-tie record.

The 21-year-old student from Montreal is a Finance major at Concordia.
