Audrey Morand of the women’s hockey team and Yannick Fortin of the men’s rugby team have been named PJ’s Pub Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 9.
Morand, a fourth-year left wing, was exceptional in two games last week. She scored the lone goal in a 1-0 upset victory over the No. 1-ranked McGill Martlets last Friday. The following day she collected two goals and an assist in a 3-0 win over the Carleton Ravens. She was involved in every goal over the two games, scoring three and adding the assist
.A 24-year-old native of Montreal, Morand is a Sociology major at Concordia.
Fortin, who is a third-year inside centre and team captain, led the men's rugby team to a bonus point 26-15 win over the Montreal Carabins last Friday. He inspired the defence to stifle any form of attack from Montreal. Equally proficient on offence, Fortin mixed up the attack and helped create the opportunities required to score four tries, With the victory the Stingers clinched first place in the RSEQ.
The 23-year-old student from Lachine, Que. is a Supply Chain Operations major at Concordia.
