Marilyse Roy-Viau of the women’s basketball team and Andreas Krawczyk of the men’s rugby team have been named PJ’s Pub Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 23.
Roy-Viau, a third-year forward, was exceptional in a tough 65-55 loss to the McGill Martlets on Saturday night. She scored 19 points and collected eight rebounds. So far this season she is averaging 19 points and nine rebounds a game. She ranks second in both RSEQ categories.
A 22-year-old native of Mirabel, Que., Roy-Viau is a Leisure Sciences major at Concordia.
Krawczyk, who is a second-year flanker, helped guide the men's rugby team to an exciting 28-21 overtime win over the McGill Redmen in the RSEQ championship on Sunday afternoon. Krawczyk’s exceptional performance helped the Stingers drive the field and tie the game in extra time. His leadership was key in the 20 minutes of overtime as well. He was selected player of the game in the championship.
The 22-year-old student from Pointe Claire, Que. is a Leisure Sciences major at Concordia.
