Richelle Gregoire of the women’s basketball team and Olivier Hinse of the men’s hockey team have been named Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Feb. 7.
Gregoire, a fourth-year forward, was outstanding in two Concordia wins over the Bishop’s Gaiters last week. She had 19 points, nine rebounds and five steals in an 80-51 victory last Thursday. In the rematch two days later, she had an impressive 16 points, 12 rebounds and eight steals to lead the Stingers to a 58-46 win.
A 24-year-old native of Ste. Therese, Que., Gregoire is a Sociology student at Concordia.
Hinse collected five goals and an assist for six points in two games last week. He scored a hat trick in a 7-3 loss to the McGill Redmen last Friday. He added two goals and an assist to his totals in a 7-4 victory over the RMC Paladins on Sunday. The team captain has 17 goals and 17 assists for 34 points in 26 games this season.
The 24-year-old student from Sherbrooke, Que. is a Child Studies major at Concordia.
