The Department of Recreation and Athletics is pleased to announce the return of the immensely popular contest where one lucky Concordia University student will win tuition and books during the second half of the Concordia Stingers football home opener on Friday, Sept. 7.
Recreation and Athletics in partnership with the Concordia University Bookstore and ComputerStore is pleased to sponsor this dynamic contest, offering Concordia students an exciting evening of football action and the chance to win tuition and books. (Maximum value of $1,768.20 tuition, plus a $500 credit valid for use at the Concordia University Bookstore).
All Concordia undergraduate and graduate students who fill in a Web form on the Concordia Stingers homepage ( www.stingers.ca ) will be admitted free of charge to the Stingers' football game versus the Bishop’s Gaiters. Those enrolled in a minimum of nine undergraduate or graduate credits this semester will also be entered in the Win Your Tuition and Books Contest.
A random draw will take place in the third quarter and the lucky student will be announced shortly afterward. To be eligible entrants must attend the football game and be on the premises for the announcement of the winning entry.
Journalism student Awakhiwe Dlodlo was the winner of the first Win Your Tuition and Books Contest in September 2006. DloDlo's name was drawn from several hundred entrants. She was presented a ceremonial cheque by Katie Sheahan, the Director of Recreation and Athletics, and Danny Kane, manager of the Concordia bookstore.
This Friday night there will be a new winner announced. There will also be amazing football action with a strong Concordia contingent on the field. The Spirit Team and the affable Buzz will be on hand to lead the cheering.
Tickets for non-Concordia students are $7, while adult admission in $10.
