Jorge Sanchez, head coach of the Concordia Stingers women’s soccer program, is pleased to announce the addition of Christine Sinclair to his coaching staff.
Sinclair brings a wealth of experience to the job. She is an accomplished mid-fielder/defender who started out with the Francheville Soccer Club at the youth level. At the senior level, she played with Lakeshore and in the former Quebec elite league with Omega. She participated in two national club championships with Lakeshore.
She also played in the North American Women’s League with the defunct Laval Dynamites and played one year of semi-professional soccer in Monaco. She currently plays with EDO United in the Metro Division where she competes versus a number of current Stingers and is a teammate of Concordia captain Erica Geertsen.
"She will bring a female perspective to the coaching staff,” says Sanchez, “and will be a great asset in working with our players on an individual basis to improve their skills."
Sinclair’s has experience coaching at the youth level and with women’s AA soccer in Laval.
Sanchez, Sinclair and the Stingers open the Quebec university soccer season with two games this weekend. Concordia travels to Trois-Rivières to play the Patriotes on Friday night and returns home for the opener Sunday at noon versus the Laval Rouge et Or.
