Biology student wins tuition contest

The Department of Recreation and Athletics in partnership with the Concordia Bookstore and Computerstore is pleased to announce Concordia University Biology student Tia Thomas is the winner of the Win Your Tuition and Books Contest.

Thomas’s name was drawn randomly during the Concordia Stingers home-opener football game last Friday night. After the third quarter, she was presented a ceremonial cheque by Katie Sheahan, the Director of Recreation and Athletics.

The prize is the equivalent of Quebec tuition (maximum value of $1,768.20) plus a $500 credit valid for use at the Concordia Bookstore and Computerstore.

All Concordia undergraduate and graduate students who filled in a Web form on the Concordia Stingers homepage (www.stingers.ca) were admitted free of charge to the Stingers' football game versus the Bishop’s Gaiters. Concordia students enrolled in a minimum of nine undergraduate or graduate credits were entered in the Win Your Tuition and Books Contest.

The next home football game for the Stingers is Saturday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. when Concordia hosts the Montréal Carabins. It will be a special day for the Stingers who will honor the 2007 Sports Hall of Fame inductees and celebrate Homecoming.
