The Concordia Stingers defeated the McGill Martlets in back-to-back games on the weekend to grab the fourth and final playoff spot in the QSSF women’s basketball conference.
Both teams finish the regular season with 5-11 win-loss records. However, Concordia defeated McGill in three out of four regular season contests and owns the tie-breaker.
On Saturday at Concordia gym, the Stingers defeated the Martlets 68-54.
With 13 points, rookie Anne-Marie Prophete was the top scorer for the Stingers. Krystle Douglas and Kristin Portwine had 12 points each.
The leading scorer in the game was McGill’s Nathifa Weekes with 17.
The previous evening at McGill, the Stingers won 70-43. Douglas led all scorers in the game with 15 points.
Concordia will face the first-place Laval Rouge et Or in Quebec City on Wednesday in semifinal action.
