The Concordia Stingers will band together to raise money for Doctors Without Borders, an organization providing emergency relief and long-term support to victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
On Friday, Feb. 19, the Stingers will host the UQAM Citadins in a basketball doubleheader at Concordia gym, 7200 Sherbrooke St. W., on the Loyola campus. Tip-off is 6 p.m.
All proceeds from ticket sales will be given to Doctors Without Borders. Adult tickets are $7 and all student tickets are $5. Cash donations will also be accepted.
The first game of the night will feature the men’s basketball teams. Concordia has a 4-9 win-loss record and needs to pick up points to secure a playoff spot. UQAM is in first place in the Quebec conference with a 9-4 record.
The women will play the late game. The Stingers have a 4-9 record and are fighting for a playoff spot. UQAM is in second place with a 7-6 record
