Lloyd Barker, head coach of the Concordia men’s soccer team, is pleased to announce three recruits have committed to his program and will be on the field with the Stingers when training camp opens in August.
Striker/mid-fielder Ryan Brousseau of Ottawa, goalkeeper Nour Fathy of Vancouver and forward Peter Bow also from Vancouver are the newest members of the Stingers.
"Our coaching staff is very excited to welcome Ryan, Nour and Peter,” said Barker, who is now entering his fourth season with Concordia. “These three players bring qualities that we need both on and off the field.”
Brousseau comes out of the highly respected Ottawa Fury program. He plays on the club’s U17 team. He has an impressive résumé covering the fields of community service, leadership and athletic accomplishments. His success has attracted the attention of several NCAA schools.
“Ryan has chosen to remain in Canada and is very happy to be attending Concordia University because of its academic and soccer programs,” Barker said.
Brousseau plans to study Therapeutic Recreation at Concordia.
Fathy played for the Langara College Falcons in the British Columbia Colleges’ Athletic Association (BCCAA) for the last three years. He has also been associated with the Vancouver Whitecaps organization as a youth player. He plans to pursue his studies in Political Science.
Bow has been studying Fine Arts at Langara College and plans to pursue a Design major at Concordia. He was one of the top scorers in the BCCAA in 2009. He was also a second team all-star. Before Langara, Bow represented the Kerrisdale Soccer Club.
