Concordia University’s Elisabeth Williams won a gold medal in the 67-kilo weight class at the Pan American Senior Wrestling Championships in Monterrey, Mexico on May 1-2.
The first-year Stinger from Pictou County, N.S. won all four of her matches, defeating opponents from the United States, El Salvador, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
Her efforts helped Canada finish second in the women’s competition. The Canadian women collected 64 points, while the United States finished first with 67 points.
The athletic therapy student won a silver medal at her first CIS championship last March in Calgary.
