Two named to rugby all-star team

Two members of the Concordia Stingers women's rugby team have been named to the Quebec conference all-star team.

Veteran Joanne Auger, who plays at the No. 8 position, was named to the elite squad. The native of Ste. Foy, Que., has an impressive rugby résumé, enjoying success as a member of the Montreal Irish, Quebec provincial team and ROQC de Quebec. The Sociology major is in her third year with the Stingers.

Sydney Theriault, a first-year fly half, was also named to the all-star team. An all-round athlete she has played rugby, volleyball, soccer and basketball in her native Calgary. She was named to the Alberta U19 rugby team in 2004. Theriault is an English Literature major at Concordia. The Stingers finished the 2005 season in fourth place with a 3-3 win-loss record. Concordia was elimnated by the McGill Martlets in the conference semifinals by a 45-7 score last Sunday
