Two members of the Concordia Stingers women's basketball program have been named to the 2006 QSSF second all-star team announced this week.
Fourth-year guard Mélanie Larocque of Quebec City, Que., was named to the honor roll. The Marketing student was the Stingers' leading scorer with an average of 12.9 points a game. She ranks fourth in the conference in scoring.
Joining Larocque on the all-star team is third-year post Émilie Ruel of Lachenaie, Que. She averaged 9.9 points and 5.4 rebounds a game. She is tied on the team for most rebounds on the team. Ruel will graduate this spring with a major in Linguistics and a minor in Psychology. The honorees were selected based on voting by the conference's head coaches.
