Duff, Roche named PJ's Pub Athletes of the Week

Jennifer Duff of the women's soccer team and Marc Roche of the men’s rugby team have been named the PJ’s Pub Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Sept. 23.

Duff, a fourth-year forward, was outstanding in two Concordia soccer games this past week. In a 4-0 victory over the UQAM Citadins last Thursday, she had a three-point game with two goals and an assist. She also had a solid effort in a tough 3-0 loss to the Sherbrooke Vert & Or on Sunday.

A 23-year-old native of Moncton, N.B., Duff is currently studying Urban Planning at Concordia.

Roche’s play was instrumental in helping the Stingers defeat the Montréal Carabins 19-7 last Friday night. The third-year No. 8 played an exceptional game on both offence and defence. He dominated the line-out, controlling the ball totally and stealing a large percentage of the Montreal line-out throughout the game.  He controlled the base of the scrum and was also one of the top tacklers.

The 24-year-old student from Johannesburg, South Africa studies in the Mechanical Engineering program at Concordia.
