Audrey Morand of the women’s hockey team and Joey Fulginiti of the men’s rugby team have been named the PJ’s Pub Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 3.
Morand, a third-year left wing, scored a goal and added two assists to help lift the Stingers to an impressive 6-4 victory over the Carleton Ravens on Sunday afternoon. Concordia was trailing by two goals with eight minutes to play when the team began its comeback. Morand played a key role in the turnaround. She scored the game-tying goal and set up the winning goal.
A 23-year-old native of Montreal, Morand is currently enrolled in the History program at Concordia.
Fulginiti, a third-year flyhalf, scored 23 points to help the Stingers defeated the Montréal Carabins 38-17 on Sunday night. He scored two tries, five converts and one penalty goal in the game. He was named Concordia’s MVP. The 23 points pushed Fulginiti’s totals to 110 points scored in seven games this season which is tops in the RSEQ conference. His nearest competitor has scored 42 points.
The 22-year-old student from Montreal studies in the Finance program at Concordia.
