Barrett, Brisebois - PJ's Pub Athletes of the Week

Kaylah Barrett of the women’s basketball team and Zach Brisebois of the men’s basketball team have been named the PJ’s Pub Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Dec. 1.

Barrett, a guard who is in her fourth year of eligibility, scored 20 points to help lead the Stingers to a 49-39 victory over the Laval Rouge et Or last Friday. She also chipped in with five rebounds, three assists and four steals. Her efforts helped the Stingers post a 2-2 win-loss record in RSEQ conference play and reach the No. 8 spot in the CIS rankings heading into the holidays.

A 22-year-old native of Brampton, Ont., Barrett is currently enrolled in the Urban Studies program at Concordia.

Brisebois, a fourth-year centre, was good for 14 points and nine rebounds in Concordia’s 77-70 victory over the Rouge et Or last Friday. He also had three assists, three steals and a block. He was the leading rebounder in the game. Brisebois’ play was instrumental in helping the Stingers pick up their first win in four Quebec conference games this season.

The 23-year-old student from Montreal studies in the Economics program at Concordia.
