Alex Boudreau of the women’s basketball team and Antonio Mastropietro of the men’s hockey team have been named the PJ’s Pub Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Feb. 9.
Boudreau, a fourth-year guard, was the top performer in two games last week. She scored 18 points and picked up two rebounds in a 55-49 victory over the Bishop’s Gaiters last Friday. In a rematch the following day, Boudreau collected 14 points and one rebound in a convincing 68-41 win.
A 24-year-old native of Chicoutimi, Que., Boudreau is currently enrolled in the Civil Engineering program at Concordia.
Mastropietro, a second-year goaltender, was exceptional in two games last week. Last Friday, he was in net for a 4-3 shootout loss to the Ottawa Gee-Gees. He turned away 40 of 43 shots in 65 minutes of play. The following day he was outstanding in a 4-2 win over the UOIT Ridgebacks. He stopped 31 of 33 shots. The three points were important to the Stingers who locked up sixth place in the 10-team OUA East standings.
The 22-year-old student from Montreal studies Arts at Concordia.
