Silver finish caps historic era for Stingers women's hockey

The Concordia Stingers women's hockey team closed out their season with a silver medal at the U SPORTS National Championship tournament, capping off another remarkable run on the national stage.

Concordia opened the tournament with a strong 3–1 quarterfinal win over Manitoba. Audrey Clavette and Jessymaude Drapeau, who scored twice, led the offence, while Émilie Lussier delivered a standout performance with two assists to earn Player of the Game honours.

The Stingers followed that up with a thrilling 2–1 overtime victory against Guelph in the semifinals. Lussier once again rose to the occasion, scoring the game-winning goal in overtime and being named Player of the Game for the second straight contest.

In the gold medal final, Concordia faced familiar rivals, the Montréal Carabins, for the 11th time this season. Despite a hard-fought and tightly contested battle, the Stingers fell 5–2 to secure the silver medal.

Drapeau and Lussier were both recognized for their outstanding play throughout the tournament, earning spots on the tournament  All-Star Team.

The championship game also marked the end of an era for the program, as captain Drapeau, Jordn Verbeek, Émilie Lavoie, Zoé Thibault, Lexi Bedier, and Katia Pelowich all played their final games in a Stingers uniform.

This graduating group leaves behind a lasting legacy at Concordia. Drapeau, Verbeek, Lavoie, and Thibault conclude their careers with an incredible four national medals — two gold and two silver — solidifying their place among the most accomplished players in program history.
