Stingers' McGillis takes OUA by storm

Rookie left wing Cory McGillis scored three goals to lead the Concordia Stingers to a 5-3 victory over the Gryphons at University of Guelph on Saturday night.

The Coniston, Ont. native has scored six goals in three games since joining the Stingers in the first week of January.

At Guelph, McGillis scored a power play goal in each of the first two periods. He scored the game-winner – an even-strength marker – at 10:11 of the final frame.

McGillis comes to Concordia after an accomplished five-year career in the OHL. His most recent team was the Sudbury Wolves.

The Stingers are in St. Catharines, Ont. this afternoon to face the Brock Badgers. The Stingers travel to Ottawa to face the Carleton Ravens on Friday, Jan. 23 before returning home for a much-anticipated contest with the McGill Redmen on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
