Bernie Wolfe was one of the last great athletes from the Sir George Williams University era. This exceptional goaltender was named Male Rookie of the Year in 1971. He was a three-time Quebec hockey league all-star. In his final season he led the Georgians to a berth in the national championship and was named the MVP of the tournament. His outstanding play carried the Georgians to the championship game, which ended in a heartbreaking overtime loss for Sir George. In the spring of 1974 he also earned All-Canadian honors and was named Sir George Williams Male Athlete of the Year.

After graduation, Bernie joined the NHL's Washington Capitals. He played goal in 120 games before hanging up his skates at the end of the 1979 season.

Bernie went on to become a certified financial planner and the president of Bernard R. Wolfe & Associates, Inc., a financial consulting company in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
