The Concordia Stingers men's basketball team beat the Bishop's Gaiters 78-69 on Saturday to finish the first half of the Quebec university season as the only undefeated team in the conference.
Fifth-year power forward Patrick Perrotte led the charge with 22 points. Point guard Damian Buckley had 20 points and eight rebounds. Dwayne Buckley chipped in with 14 points.
Under the direction of veteran head coach John Dore, the Stingers have a perfect 5-0 win-loss record and have defeated every team in the conference. They are currently ranked No. 7 in the country.
The Stingers will travel to the University of Victoria for the Guy Vetrie Invitational Tournament Dec. 28-30. The competition will be tough with the No. 2-ranked UBC Thunderbirds and the No. 3-ranked Victoria Vikes in the draw.
The second half of the Quebec season will begin the first weekend in January. Concordia will travel to Université Laval on Jan. 5 and return home to host the McGill Redmen on Saturday, Jan. 6 at 4 p.m.
