The Quebec teams swept the first day of action at the 46th annual Concordia-Nike men's basketball tournament, but their Ontario opponents struck back on day two of the competition.
The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks defeated the Concordia Stingers 80-75 and that was followed by an 84-73 victory for the Laurentian Voyageurs over the UQAM Citadins at Concordia gym on Saturday evening.
That left all four teams tied with 1-1 win-loss records when the two-day tournament wrapped up.
No champion was declared, but there was an all-star team. Decee Krah, Concordia; Kale Harrison, Wilfrid Laurier; Emanuel Pasquale, Laurentian; and Eric Côté-Kougnima, UQAM, were on the honor roll.
In the Stingers game, Krah led all scorers in the game with 20 points. He added seven rebounds and three assists. Zach Brisebois chipped in with 14 points.
With 19 points, Harrison was the top scorer for the Golden Hawks.
The Stingers are back in action at Concordia gym on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. when they host the Ottawa Gee-Gees in preseason action.
