Nathan Grant joins menÂ's basketball staff

Head coach Rastko Popovic is pleased to announce Nathan Grant will join the Concordia Stingers men’s basketball program as an assistant coach.

“I am excited to have Nathan with us,” Popovic said. “He brings tremendous passion and energy to coaching. He’s a proven winner as a player and coach at various levels.

“His local connections and knowledge of young players will be a great asset to our recruiting strategy.”

Grant’s responsibilities will include designing defensive schemes, leading player development sessions as well as scouting and recruiting.

A native of Montreal, Grant was head coach of Sun Youth’s juvenile boys team for three seasons - 2011-14. His exceptional work was recognized in 2013-14 when he was named Montreal Basketball League Coach of the Year.

He has also enjoyed success at the Cégep level as an assistant coach at Vanier College for three seasons beginning in 2012. He was part of the Cheetahs’ provincial champion team in 2014. Vanier was a silver medallist in 2015.

Grant had an exceptional playing career as a guard with Vanier from 2003 to 2005, winning a provincial championship in his last year.

He played university basketball for the Brandon Bobcats from 2006 to 2011, winning a silver medal at the CIS national championship in 2007.
