Fournier, Georges named to RSEQ soccer honor roll

Concordia Stingers rookie mid-fielder Kaitlyn Fournier of the women’s soccer team and second-year defender Olivier Georges from the men’s program were named RSEQ all-stars this week.

Fournier, from Pincourt, Que., scored five goals and added four assists in 14 games for Concordia. She was selected as the game MVP for the Stingers on seven occasions. Fournier was involved in 50 per cent of the team’s scoring during the season.

Georges, a talented defensive specialist, did not figure in the team scoring. However, the Brossard, Que. native was named the MVP in four of 12 games. He is one of the Stingers’ captains.

Both players were second team all-stars.

After a brief break, both teams will begin preparations for the RSEQ indoor soccer season that gets under way in January.
